It is broadcast, often live, and poker fans around the globe settle down to follow the games until the end. Terry Rogers spent a few days in Las Vegas during one of his trips to America in 1979. It started innocently as a look-see, and ended up as the Irish Open as we know it today. Back in Ireland, he and a group of friends used to meet regularly above his office to play Poker. However, that one trip to Vegas changed it all. Today, The Irish Open is a huge event, broadcast on television and publicized on the internet. The Irish Open 2010 is once again being held at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin. This elegant, four-star hotel has been host to the event previously, and preparation is underway for 2010. This is the longest running European Poker Tournament and the second longest running internationally (second only to the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas). The beauty of this tournament is the pots of Irish gold that winners await – The Multi-Million Euro prize pool. The main event kicks off on the 2nd of April until the 5th of April 2010.
